Park Time with Nala

A couple weekends ago when Bill and Pat were visiting, we all decided to head out to the park near our house. Of course, going to the park wouldn't be complete without Nala.

When we got to the park, the girls decided to take a walk first while the boys went immediately over to the baseball field. Later on, Pat and I joined the Lummus baseball practice (I even got to hit a few pitches thrown by William). Anna chose to keep exploring the park with Nala. When it was time to go, we noticed that Anna had given Nala a makeover of sorts--check out her accessories!

A Milestone for Miles!

Two weeks ago, Miles made his First Communion. For those of you who aren't familiar with this sacrament, it is a very big step for second graders--especially those who attend Catholic schools. The children prepare for months.

We were very proud and honored to be there to celebrate this achievement with Miles and his family. We were especially proud when Miles went to the podium during the ceremony and read from the Bible. He and his classmate did a wonderful job. I would have been nervous, but he appeared completely comfortable--just showing how grown up he has become!

Bill has better pictures but we haven't loaded them on our computer yet. When we do, I'll be sure to add them. Congratulations Miles!

Field Day!! Go Aussies!!

This year, Anna and William were on Team Australia for Field Day. Most noteworthy to mention here is that when the day arrived we were excited to see the sun, but disappointed that we could not feel its heat! The kids (and parents) were freezing! But, being the good sports that they are, they soldiered on. In fact, their team even won the "Best Sportsmanship" Award. Congratulations, kiddos!

My Babies on Mother's Day

It was a gorgeous Mother's Day in Nashville this year. Making that day even more beautiful was seeing my two precious children all dressed up! They behaved like angels all day. And, especially sweet of them was indulging me that night with continuing our tradition of reading books together--even though I know they would have preferred watching the NHL playoff game. I know all mothers must feel this way, but I am completely and totally in love with my children!

A Spring Garden

The kids and I decided to plant a small garden this spring. Everyone chose a couple perennials that they liked and we threw them all together in an area next to our patio. Just like our family, although the flowers, colors and textures are all different, they work beautifully together!

These pictures were taken immediately after we finished. The roses have since bloomed and look gorgeous. I have pictures to prove it, but my camera battery is dead so I can't upload them to our computer yet. As soon as I can, I will.
 

Oh, the Places You'll Go!

A couple of weeks ago, Anna and William performed in the school musical. It was based on Dr. Seuss's book, "Oh, the Places You'll Go." They each had songs to sing--Anna (because she is also in the choir) sang three songs, while William performed to one song.

It is always precious to see all the children on stage doing their best. I love that the school has every child participate; this way whether you are shy or lack self-confidence, you still get a chance to experience what it feels like to perform in front of a crowd. And, let me tell you--they all did a marvelous job! Below are some photos from the first evening performance. Since my photos aren't that great, I'll add some that Bill took from his super-duper camera later (we haven't uploaded them to our computer yet).
