Field Day--Rain or Shine!

After postponing Field Day because of rain on Monday, the powers that be decided to have it today--Tuesday, May 5th. The kids were excited for several reasons: 1) they got to go out-of-uniform, 2) I was going to be with them all day, and 3) there was a carnival afterwards with FREE cotton candy, snow-cones, and games galore!

Anna and William gave it their all! They jumped rope, threw bean bags through hoops, had a baseball throw, a relay race, a long jump, a sack race, and a basketball shoot-off...to name only a few events!

After our homemade picnic lunch, they played a soccer game, slid down an inflatable slide, raced through an inflatable obstacle course, tried to dunk teachers in a dunking booth, had balloons twisted into a sword and a cat, played the cake-walk game (William won two dozen chocolate chip cookies and a 1/2 dozen sugar cookies), and boogied to the DJ! It's exhausting just writing about it--imagine how tired the little ones were?!?

Grayson's Wedding

Last night, Bill and I dressed up and headed out to see two wonderful people tie-the-knot, Grayson Woods and Russ Brown. Their wedding was at the beautiful St. George's Episcopal Church in Belle Meade. Afterwards, everyone headed to the War Memorial Auditorium that had been luxuriously decorated with an ornate chandelier, white flowing drapes, linen table clothes, fine china and stemware, exuberant flower arrangements, hundreds of candles, and a disco ball. There was a lounge area with couches and open bars, a photo booth area, and a dance floor that pulled everyone out to test their dance moves! From start to finish, everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed sharing this moment with Grayson and Russ! Congratulations!

Sick Day

William has been sick and home for the last two days. I feel so bad for him. He can't stop coughing. I was able to catch him cuddling with Isis this morning. Send him your prayers!
